Why get involved?

  • Have your say: Share your ideas on what makes a good work experience and what support young people really need.
Work with employers: Join businesses and organisations to co-create new approaches that could help more young people into jobs.
  • Make a difference: Help design practical solutions that tackle barriers to work and improve opportunities for young people across Scotland.

What to expect

  • A welcome from the Minister and sector experts
  • Creative workshops and idea sessions
  • Activities to map out what fair work experience should look like (in-person, online and hybrid)
  • The chance to meet employers and connect with other young people

You don’t need any experience or knowledge to apply, we are keen to hear from young people with a variety of experiences and from all sorts of backgrounds and communities.

Your perspective matters. Join us to help shape better pathways into work and influence how businesses support young people in the future.

We are happy to make reasonable adjustments to help you take part based on your needs. All young people are welcome at Young Scot including those with disabilities, neurodiversity, queer young people and ethnic minorities.

We’re keen to collaborate with young people who can sometimes have more barriers to taking part in opportunities due to their personal circumstances. This includes ethnic minorities, disabled young people, young carers, care-experienced young people, and young people who live in low-income households.

This application form is also available as a word document and we also accept verbal applications made using video or voice recordings. If you need any support with signing up, please contact us at YSHive@young.scot and we’ll be happy to help.

Sign ups close on Sunday 9th of November.

Next Steps

Once you complete the form, we will be in touch with you via email with more information about the event and to confirm your attendance.

Questions or concerns?

No problem, we’re happy to help with those! Just get in touch with us at yshive@young.scot and we’ll support you as best we can.
