Meet the Glasgow Life Team – Corrine

Hi! I’m Corinne Allan. I’m a Libraries and Communities Officer with Glasgow Life.

I work in the south of the city and with young people in Pollokshields, Kinning Park, Ibrox and Govan. I am also responsible for detached and outreach youth work across the city. This means that we have youth workers out on the streets talking about issues that concern you and supporting you to access the activities and services that help you in your daily life.

How long have you worked for Glasgow Life?

I’ve worked for Glasgow Life for just over 5 years. I have over 26 years’ experience as a youth worker though. Before that I worked with young people in a large youth centre in Castlemilk. I also run boxing for exercise classes in my spare time.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

I love working with young people directly and helping them get the most out of their time within youth work. I love seeing them grow with the support of the youth work staff.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself

I once starred in a show with Matthew Kelly at the King’s Theatre, in an adaptation of the Pied Piper called “The Rats”!

To get in touch with Corrine please drop us an email at youth@glasgowlife.org.uk. Or give us a call on 0141 287 4350
