About this opportunity
Youth VIP is a multi-organisation initiative to promote inclusive and participatory youth volunteering across Scotland. Formed from 13 recommendations made by young people from the Youth Volunteering Innovation Project (Youth VIP) to the Scottish Government in 2020, the panel now work with organisations, Local Government and young people to make this vision a reality.
On this project, you will work as a panel to help improve volunteering for young people in Scotland. Working collaboratively with Young Scot, YouthLink Scotland and Volunteering Matters to support the development of volunteering opportunities for young people and ensure rights and needs of young people are at the heart of this process.
You will also be involved in creating and design resources in the form of videos, content information etc to support organisations and the wider sector when offering volunteering opportunities to young people.
The panel will meet four times in person throughout the year but there will be the opportunity to take part in both internal and external events and meetings. The session dates will provisionally be:
- Session 1 – Saturday 6th June 2026
- Session 2 – Saturday 29th August 2026
- Session 3 – Saturday 7th November 2026
- Session 4 – Saturday 20th February 2027
Get Involved
Applications close on Monday 18th May at midnight.
We are happy to make reasonable adjustments to help you take part based on your needs. All young people are welcome at Young Scot including those with disabilities, neurodiversity, queer young people and ethnic minorities.
We’re keen to collaborate with young people who can sometimes have more barriers to taking part in opportunities due to their personal circumstances. This includes ethnic minorities, disabled young people, young carers, care-experienced young people, and young people who live in low-income households.
This application form is also available as a word document and we also accept verbal applications made using video or voice recordings. If you need any support with signing up, please contact us at YSHive@young.scot and we’ll be happy to help.
Next Steps
Once you complete the form, we will be in touch with you via email. Depending on the volume of interest in this Panel, we may run a short, online selection session. More details about this will be shared.
