Favourite travel spot: India – it’s an amazing country – so vibrant because of its rich and diverse cultures, incredible history, and varied landscapes – from mountains, to forests, to glorious beaches. Culturally India offers unique experiences through its vibrant festivals, performance, music, textiles and art, plus delicious food, spiritual sites, and incredible architecture…and not forgetting the amazing people you get to meet.
However, Scotland too, and in particular the west coast, is one of my very favourite travel spots with amazing landscapes and waters to explore, and wildlife to see. On the west coast the skies and the sea shine the most beautiful blue in the summer sunshine, and it doesn’t get dark until after 11pm.
Best thing about my job: That it is always different and that I have been lucky to do it for a while now, and it is never boring, there are always new things to learn, to listen to, to research, to read, to create and new people to meet and work with. I get to work with brilliant and inspiring colleagues, young people, educators, artists and musicians and we get to create new things together that hopefully have a positive impact in some way either on the individuals who are part of it or more widely. I have been able to see young people that I have worked with when they were 10 grow up doing the things they love and are passionate about and continue doing those into their 20’s….and beyond.
Superpower: To bring peace…I don’t think I need to say more.
