New Online Service for Getting Your Birth Certificate

Your birth certificate is an important document. Not only does it register the date and time that you came into the world, you’ll need it for things like:

  • Starting a new job
  • Proof of age
  • Applying for a passport
  • Applying for a provisional driver’s licence

It’s also one of the accepted proofs when applying for your Young Scot National Entitlement Card.

Can’t remember what safe place you put it? Lost it in a move? Don’t panic, Renfrewshire Council has a new easy online service where you can order and pay for a copy of your birth certificate and when it’s ready it will be posted to your door.

You can order it here

Please note there is a cost for requesting a copy of a certificate.  Details are available on the website above.
