Disabilities and Difficulties

Disabilities and Difficulties is a project created by the Angus Youth Media Team. It is a way of allowing some of our group members to share the long term health conditions as well as social and personal difficulties that they deal with. Our aim is that this project promotes awareness and discussion around the wider topic of young people being challenged by all sorts of Disabilities and Difficulties.

To any young people facing challenges along these themes, we would like you to know that you are not alone! We hope our words provide you with a sense that there are people who can understand your struggles and that finding a place where you can belong is possible, despite how unlikely it may sometimes appear.

Here you will find a series of interviews from our group members, on their personal experiences around the topic of Disabilities and Difficulties.

Barry McKay talks about his experience of living with chronic fatigue syndrome / Myalgic encephalomyelitis.
Tirzah Ellen talks about her experience of having prosopagnosia AKA face blindness.

Listen to Natasha McNaughton talk about her experience of visual impairment.
In this video, Duncan Cameron shares his experiences of living with a stutter, which he has a unique name for!
