Get Started: Making Music

Many famous singers and musicians took their first steps toward stardom by learning at home in a bedroom or garage.

Getting started is often the hardest part of any new adventure. We are very lucky to have some friendly and talented youth workers on hand to help.

KYTHE (Kinross-shire Youth Enterprise) are a youth work organisation based in Kinross, passionate about the arts and sharing that with the young people they support.

Barry had made some videos to explain the basics of playing and setting up drums, whilst including things like recording and video editing for beginners.

Gillian is a keen guitar player and has made some beginners guides to playing guitar too.

There’s more…

As an extra we’ve added in some instructional videos we found for learning chords on guitar and piano, a series of bass guitar lessons and some beginner techniques for drumming too.
