Glasgow MSYPs – Provan – Nabah Rahman

Nabah Rahman, MSYP for Glasgow Provan

Hi! I’m a full-time student, outside the SYP I am a year group rep for our school’s student council. I also work part time as a henna artist. I enjoy reading, doodling, watching sitcoms and love all things capybara!

I wanted to become an MSYP because I believe youth voices deserve to be heard and when I was introduced to the SYP by a friend, I thought it would be the perfect medium. As someone belonging to a ethic and religious minority I wanted to ensure that diverse voices are not only acknowledged but also actively incorporated into decision making processes.

What are three important issues you’re passionate about?

The three most important issues to me right now are – Making Glasgow a safer place for women, improving education and bridging gaps in for young people whose first language is not English, and Period poverty.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself

I can speak 6.5ish languages!
