Erskine Youth Council are a youth community group for 11-18-year-olds that aims to have young people’s voices heard and increase youth participation and involvement within their local community by planning and facilitating events, trips etc. to provide new opportunities for other young people. As well as focus on campaigning work that focuses on issues that affect young people most eg. environmental, cost of living, social isolation and the right to play.
Erskine Youth Council (EYC) exists to help make sure young people’s voices are heard – what you think is important and what you would like to see happen in Erskine and beyond. It’s also a really welcoming place to make new friends, find out more about what’s going on and learn new things.
Our goal is to make sure that young people are involved in any community planning that happens. We also plan events and trips to share what we do, and what the big issues are and also so we can plan.
Some of the topics we tackle include:
- The environment
- The cost of living
- Being isolated or lonely
- Your right to play and have fun
Our group is very welcoming and you will get to meet new people and boost your skills including communication, using campaign tools and teamwork. You can also bring the skills you have to the group and share them.
Interested in EYC? Please get in touch with us and we can tell you a little bit more.
