The West Partnership Ambassadors are a group of young people just like you who want to make a difference in their communities. They come together from different areas – Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire and Inverclyde. Ambassadors talk about issues that matter to them, such as mental health, education, and the experiences of refugees. These ambassadors get to decide on the themes they want to focus on and then create projects to bring awareness and change to their communities. It’s all about young people leading the way and having their voices heard!
Why would I be interested?
By becoming an ambassador, you get a chance to meet new friends and learn new skills. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in fun workshops, share your ideas, and work with others to make your community a better place. Plus, it’s a great way to learn about topics that are important to you and your friends. Whether you are passionate about music, mental health, or helping others, there’s something for everyone. You also get to find out more about the issues that young people who live in areas near you feel are important – are they the same issues for young people in Renfrewshire?
What difference do the Ambassadors make?
Ambassadors learn how to research important issues, speak up in meetings, and work as a team to come up with creative solutions. For example, some ambassadors have focused on how music can help mental health, while others have worked on projects about religious education or supporting refugees. Young people from each of the areas have been working to highlight a specific issue.
Renfrewshire ambassadors have researched the experiences of Refugees and Asylum Seekers. They felt this was an issue that needed to be highlighted locally.
