Linking Your Young Scot National Entitlement Card

If you are a current Young Scot Membership member, you will recently have been asked to add your Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) to your account when you sign in.

This page will help if you are finding it difficult to connect your NEC to your account.

Top Tips

  • To add your card, the system needs the details on your NEC and your Young Scot Membership account to match exactly. If your details don’t match, the system will register a mismatch and you won’t be able to add your card
  • Your name, date of birth and card number on your Young Scot Membership account have to match these details on your NEC
  • If you have a middle name on your NEC, enter this in the forename field of your account
  • If your name features a hyphen, ensure the spaces around the hyphen are the same on your NEC and your account. Extra spaces will cause a mismatch
  • The postcode the system requires is the postcode of the address that your current NEC was sent to, bear in mind this may be different from your current address
  • If you have gotten a replacement NEC or reported an NEC as lost, the card number of that card will no longer work. Please ensure you are entering the card number of your current NEC

Where Are the Details on My Card?

If your card has any incorrect information on it, you can find out how to apply for a new Young Scot NEC at young.scot/card.

How Can I Update My Details?

Head to mygovscot to update your name and date of birth. You can do this by logging in then heading to ‘Account’ and selecting ‘Change’ on the field you need to change. You can then log in at membership.young.scot and add your card number.

Alternatively, you can update your details when attempting to add your NEC to your Membership account. When you see the message below, click ‘Update your personal details’ and this will take you to mygovscot. You will then have to head back to your Membership account to add your NEC number.

We understand this process can be tricky, if the information on this page hasn’t resolved your issue, you can contact us at membership@young.scot for more support.
