Young Carers Groups in the Western Isles

A young carer is a child or young person (up to the age of 18) whose life is affected by looking after someone with a disability or long term illness. The person they care for may be a parent, sibling, another family member or a friend and may not necessarily live in the same house as them.

Young Carers Groups aim to give the young people a break away from their caring roles to have fun and relax with other young carers.  Through attending the groups, we hope to see the young people increase their confidence, self esteem and mental health wellbeing.
