Come along to your local library and find out how to make computer games, interactive stories, music, art, robots, apps and more!
Glasgow Libraries now have a network of free coding clubs where kids can learn how to be creative with code, while having fun and making new friends. These groups are open to children and young people aged 8-17.
We have a booking page where you can see which libraries have clubs and book tickets for them where available.
You can read the latest news on our Blog.
We also have spaces for young people aged 18-24 to volunteer to help us run the clubs. Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience! We’ll supply you with full training and support. To find out about becoming a volunteer Mentor at a club see our page on the Glasgow Life Volunteering site.
Please contact claire.quigley@glasgowlife.org.uk with any questions.
What is a CoderDojo?
Our clubs are part of the CoderDojo community which has clubs around the world and is part of the Code Club network. Young coders start off by following simple instructions on how to make games and animations with Scratch, a block-based programming language developed specially for children and beginners. As they progress, they move on to making web pages and programming in Python and other real-world languages.
