Steps to Pride

In March, a group of seven young people who attend an LGBT group supported by Renfrewshire Council’s Youth Services worked together to create a piece of artwork in the stairwell of the Youth Services building.

On the day, the young people worked with a Graffiti Artist to learn new skills in Graffiti art and then used these to celebrate their LGBT identity by painting each stair in a colour of the Pride flag whilst at the same time, brightening the place up!

The different colours mean different things:

  • Red – Life
  • Orange – Healing
  • Yellow – Sunlight
  • Green – Nature
  • Blue – Serenity
  • Purple – Spirit

The LGBT group are called Fantastic Six (because of the six colours of the pride flag) and if you are interested in finding out more about the group or getting involved you can visit the campaign page or email youth@renfrewshire.gov.uk
