Duke of Edinburgh Open Group

The Blairgowrie Open Group Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme has been running for many years now and has grown to become highly inclusive, with participants engaging in the most diverse range of activities and expeditions, to achieve life changing results for themselves. For more information on the work of the group, head to our Facebook page.

Anyone aged 14 to 24 can do a Duke of Edinburgh programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The following outlines what you need to do to earn yourself a Duke of Edinburgh award through the Blairgowrie open group.  For more information on what the Duke of Edinburgh is and the commitment needed to complete the award, please visit the website.

You can start your Duke of Edinburgh in the school year in which you turn 14, although you are able to apply for it in the school year before that. If you are living in Blairgowrie or the surrounding East Perthshire area, you can apply to do the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with the Blairgowrie open group.

If you’d like to apply or find out more, you can email or download this information letter and application form. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at paulcunningham@pkc.gov.uk.
