Action for Children Glasgow

Action for Children’s is a UK-based charity which focuses on working with Children, Families & Young people who are vulnerable, care experienced or supported for multiple reasons.

Our main focus at the Employability Service is to tackle youth unemployment from ages 14 – 24 (if care experienced up to 29) across various parts of Scotland. Breaking down any barriers which are preventing them from progressing into further training, education or employment.

Young people can be paid on our programmes depending per attendance and if not on any benefits. However we would rather people want to participate in our programmes for their own personal development rather than financial gain.

As well as 1:1 support, our programmes and services can vary between 4-6 weeks and run different days. They all have employability focus (CV, Interview Preparation & Techniques, Applications, Budgeting) As well as Personal Development (Team Building, Health & Wellbeing, Positive Relationships etc.). Finally wherever there is a sector specific focus there is plenty of outings and site visits.

All our young people will have a dedicated key worker who will support them throughout their journey and up to 6 months after a progression.

All our programmes & services can be accessed by referring through our simple Microsoft Forms link which can be found on our website, leaflets or being part of our recruitment mailing list.
