Scottish Borders Rape Crisis

The Scottish Borders Rape Crisis charity has two services that support young people who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any time in your life:

  • Unity: Emotional and practical, support, information and advocacy for all young people of any gender/gender identity aged between 12 and 18.
  • Sunrise: Emotional and practical, support, information and advocacy for self-identifying female survivors aged 18+.

When you contact the service

  • They will believe you
  • They will listen to you
  • They will support you

They respect and understand how hard it can be to speak to someone about your experience of sexual violence whether it is a recent assault or whether it happened a long time ago. You can contact the service yourself or ask someone you trust to do it for you.

When you get in touch, they will offer you an introductory session with a support worker in their centre in Galashiels or another safe venue if possible, by phone/MS Teams or Zoom. You can use this time in the way that you choose and can talk through what support might be helpful for you, you do not need to talk about the sexual violence if you don’t want to.

Unity has been designed by young people for young people and experienced support workers are committed to providing support in a way that suits you.
