First-Time Application

If you are at secondary school...

Contact the South Ayrshire Young Scot Team on 01292 612 788 or youngscot@south-ayrshire.gov.uk

If you are no longer at school...

You can get an application form for your first card at a Local Validation Point listed below.

Once you've completed an application form, you don't send it by post to us - you have to get it validated! You may want to fill the form out at the Local Validation Point who will send it away to be processed, but the cardholder must attend with;

  • a passport-sized photo (your head and shoulders must appear in the photo, on a plain background, and you can even smile!),
  • photo identification (a passport is preferred, however you may also use a birth certificate if you can provide a photo referee), and
  • a proof of address - like a letter stating the applicants' name and current address

If you don't have photographic identification (like a passport), and are using your birth certificate, you must be able to provide a 'photo referee' who can be contacted during the application process.
