FollowYourFeet in Articles

This October, a group of young people are launching their campaign  - #FollowYourFeet - and encouraging other young people in Renfrewshire to look after their own mental health and wellbeing.

The Youth Commission, made up of young people like you from across Renfrewshire, have been completing research and working towards putting together recommendations that professionals who work with young people experiencing poor mental health can pledge to adopt.

During October the Youth Commissioners are promoting #FollowYourFeet, asking young people to use social media and share positive messages and tips on how to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.  Look out for the foot logo below!

During the October Week the Young Scot trailer will be at the Cenotaph in Paisley town centre promoting the campaign and encouraging young people to get involved in the Youth Commission.  Think you would interested?

They will also be running a survey and the results from the survey will be used to develop the recommendations and make sure that you have a say in how services work for you.  Lots of partners will also be at the trailer giving out info on their services.

The trailer will be open on:
Monday 16th – 12 – 7pm,
Tuesday 17th – 12 – 5pm,
Wednesday 18th – 12 – 7pm,
Thursday 19th – 12 – 5pm, and
Friday 20th – 12 – 6pm.

As well as the trailer, there will be some town centre walks (with a little extra happening)  On Monday 16th, Wednesday 18th and Friday 20th October, the Youth Commissioners will lead a wellbeing walk called Keep on Strollin’, Strollin’, Strollin’ as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival.  It will go through the centre of town and you can check out some of the town’s history and the town's iconic buildings. Those who take part will be encouraged to complete tasks aimed at increasing their positive mental health and take part in the campaign by leaving positive messages in different spots around the town.  Everyone will be given a foot print where they will be able to write a positive message and leave it for someone to find.  Whoever finds the footprint can follow the instructions, take a picture and share on social media using the #FollowYourFeet.
