About the Content Creation Workshop

At Young Scot, we focus on lots of different topics on our social media channels. Some of these are relevant to what's happening in young people's lives right now, are being talked about in the news, or have been suggested by young people who volunteer with us.

We want to host an open event at our office in Edinburgh, so that you can come along and be supported to create content on the themes you're passionate about, learn more about working in digital media and get the chance to meet some other young people from across Scotland!

The themes that we have coming up and would love to create some content with you on, are:

  • Loneliness
  • Misinformation, disinformation and fake news
  • World Mental Health Day
  • Careers
  • Children's Rights
  • Black History Month (where you can receive a £50 voucher if your blog is selected and published, find out more about this opportunity on #YSHive)

If you have an idea that you'd be particularly passionate about writing about or filming a video about, that isn't included in this list, we'd be happy to hear more about it and include the topic in current or future sessions.

While this session will run from 5pm to 8pm, we understand you might not be able to stay for the whole session or may need to arrive later. There are three available timeslots to select, just let us know which is the easiest for you to arrive during on our registration form linked in the Sign-up section below.
