OPPORTUNITY: Volunteer on the #YSAttain Youth Voice Panel

#YSAttain is looking for a group of young people to join our new #YSAttain Youth Voice Panel. We are looking for young people aged 11-25 who have been involved with #YSAttain, may have experienced challenges to accessing and participating in opportunities or have used your Young Scot National Entitlement Card to access services in your local area such as bus travel, leisure centre, library or for discounts.

Project information

🎂 11-25 years old.
📅 You will meet every 6-8 weeks on Zoom.
🗺️
Anywhere in Scotland.

There might also be a chance to meet in person. If this is the case, all expenses including food and travel will be covered by Young Scot.

We would love to hear from a wide range of young people right across Scotland – we’re particularly interested to hear from:

  • young carers
  • young parents
  • young people who live in a rural area
  • care-experienced young people
  • if you get or have had free school meals

What you'll do as part of the panel

#YSAttain aims to support and provide opportunities for young people to achieve their goals both in school and out of school settings. The #YSAttain Youth Voice Panel will support Young Scot to ensure that #YSAttain and wider Young Scot services best meet the needs of young people, are accessible and help to tackle stigma.

The Panel will look at things like:

  • Young Scot National Entitlement Card
  • Rewards
  • Local Discounts
  • Access to education
  • Extra-curricular activities
  • Information Content and more...

There may also be opportunities to work with the team from the Scottish Government to look at how the Scottish Attainment Challenge supports young people.

This project may take place through hybrid work of in-person and online meetings. We understand getting online can be difficult, so please still apply if even if they have limited access as we can support you with alternative arrangements.

We will work together to create a supportive and inclusive team, with opportunities to learn a range of skills, meet new people, take part in training and develop self-confidence.

As a Young Scot volunteer, you will sometimes be invited to join extra workshops and activities with Young Scot on different topics, but these are optional.

You will receive a £10 voucher for every session that you attend!
