DigiKnow - Champions Award in Midlothian

As part of our wider work on Digital safety and digital careers, Young Scot has launched our DigiKnow? Champions Award, in partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College to help you build the skills and knowledge needed to be protected from online threats.

We will be delivering this programme online for Midlothian between 14th June and 9th July 2021.

What does the award involve?

It will offer the opportunity to learn in an engaging and interactive way about a variety of cyber and digital topics.

Areas covered include:

  • Practical digital resilience to help protect you and your devices;
  • Health and wellbeing to support positive mental wellbeing in relation to technology use;
  • Careers and learning to identify job routes in cyber and digital and explore own skillsets.

You will pass on your knowledge to other learners, which will help you to build confidence and grow your network of other young people undertaking the award.

Although the learning will be online and self-guided, you will be supported by Young Scot staff, Glasgow Kelvin College staff and a local trained ambassador to give you the tools needed to learn and develop.

The Award will be split into 2 Units, and you will gain an SCQF Level 4 qualification on completion of each of these units.

No previous qualifications or experience is required. This opportunity is open to all young people, no matter your current education or employment status.
