Young volunteers and staff who took part in this years summer programme were asked what kind of training would help enhance the skills of potential young volunteers within youth activities throughout West Dunbartonshire. The following training needs were identified:
- Introduction to being a Young Leader/Volunteer
- Internet Safety
- Basic child protection
- Food hygiene
- Basic first aid
- Basic group work skills
- Mental Health

- Leadership skills
As a result we are currently developing a training calendar to be delivered between now and the next Summer Programme.
All the training sessions will be open to any young person who is 14+ and interested in volunteering/peer education. Places on each training session will be limited to 25 young people and will be on a first come, first served basis.
The first training session will take place on Wednesday 13th November from 6-8pm in Clydebank High School. This training session will cover An Introduction to Being a Young Leader/Volunteer.
