The Positive About Youth Awards Are Back! It’s time to get nominating and celebrate the young person or group you think deserves recognition.
Now in its 11th year, the Positive About Youth (PAY) Awards is Renfrewshire’s premier youth celebration event. It will honour the outstanding qualities of young people aged between 12 and 25 in Renfrewshire. We need to know who deserves to be seen for what they do!
Nominations are open until Monday 16th October at 5pm. Check out the awards categories below and submit your nomination.

- Forging Your Own Path Award – This award is for a young person or group who has faced and managed to overcome adversity and challenges in their lifetime. This could be a young person who has gone through hardship but used it in a positive way to turn their life around or an individual who focuses their time on caring for a close relative or friend.
- Eco Award – We are looking for a young person or group who has shown exceptional dedication towards protecting the environment through things such as promoting recycling or the effects of climate change. Other examples could be organising litter picks in their area or campaigning for change to waste disposal or societal attitudes etc.
- Young Fundraiser Award – We’re looking for a young person or group who has shown outstanding interest in raising money for the greater good in their community. No matter how much was raised this group or individual will have shown dedication to the cause.
- Campaigning for Change Award – This award is for an individual or group that has campaigned or is currently campaigning for a change of circumstances for other young people. They might be trying to raise money for a worthy cause or trying to raise awareness of something close to their heart. They will have worked hard to get a positive change for young people, whether that be locally or nationally.
- Volunteer of the Year Award – The aim of this award is to celebrate the work of a young person who has helped people in and around their community. Along with this, we are looking for a person who consistently gives up their free time to help other people, changing lives for the better.
- The Unsung Hero Award – The award seeks to find a young person who has gone the extra mile but never seeks any recognition or reward for their work. Someone who brings so much more than expected to their community and to the people they help, always working with a smile and freely giving up their time to help others.
- Youth Group of the Year Award – We are looking for a group of young people that have worked tirelessly to improve their peer’s lives. For example creating or planning a youth project that has gone on to inspire others, helping to build a better community/school or a project that has been shown to have made a positive impact on the lives of young people within their school or community.
- Eilish Herron Young Sports Person Award – An award that aims to celebrate single sports achievements of individuals, whether it be sports coaching or a major milestone in their sporting background. We are looking for someone who gives up their free time to help others or always strives to do their best and achieve.
- Ferran Hart Young Artist Award – We are looking for a young person who is passionate about the arts, whether it be through a love of art, film, acting, dance or photography. This is a chance for their work to be appreciated and recognised within the community.
The Award Ceremony will take place on Wednesday 8th November at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew.
