Stirling's Youthie in the Hoosie - Information topic Day 34

Every Weekday at 3.00 PM we launch our information for the day, today the topic is

Volunteering

Today we are continuing with #Powerofyouthday, so we are hearing from more young people who are involved in volunteering.

Amanda - Twilight Basketball Ambassador

Being able to volunteer at twilight has given me so many opportunities to try new things and to be part of something great which is amazing.  It has for sure helped me to be the person I am today. But more importantly it allows me to spend time with friends/team that allows me to helping and encouraging them to be the best they can be.  This is done during the twilight sessions as we help with delivering some of the coaching and from that we can support and encourage the participants to improve their basketball in a way which is fun.

I am  also a Well-being ambassador with SAMH and Scottish Sports Futures.  I wanted to get involved in this because I know the power sport has and the impact it can have on your mental health from my own experience.

Lottie MSYP

Lottie is one of Stirling's Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament.  She has been in post for a year now and her role is to represent the voices of Stirling's young people at a national level, ensuring that young people views are heard to decision makers.

At the start of Lockdown Lottie worked to start up a community project of volunteers to help those in need in her community.  Well done Lottie !
