What is your best memory of growing up in South Ayrshire?
My favourite memory of growing up in South Ayrshire was joining the South Ayrshire Youth Forum, and subsequently becoming Chairperson. It was a real honour to make a difference to the lives of young people, while also meeting friends for life.
Tell us about your aspirations / goals?
My aspiration is to be a good person, who seizes every opportunity available to them. I want to continue helping young people and making a difference to their lives through my job as a music teacher. I want to develop my skills on a number of instruments and learn them to a better standard. I want to learn another language and be able to speak it well. I want to visit more places, both inside and outside of the UK. Finally, I want to own a cute little pug!
What are your biggest achievements?
My biggest achievement so far is gaining my Music Education degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. As a result of this, I am now working as a secondary music teacher and trying to make a difference to the lives of young people every day.
What makes you proud to be a young person living in South Ayrshire?
Through my previous work as a member of South Ayrshire Youth Forum, I got to witness first-hand the amazing people who live and work in our local communities. The efforts of these individuals and their achievements make me so proud to live here. As well as this, the amount of culture and heritage in South Ayrshire makes me grateful and proud to have grown up in an area rich with history.
If you were to pass on a message to other young people, what would your message be?
I would always tell people to embrace failures and not to be disheartened if things do not work out the way you wanted them to - life has a great way of sorting itself and placing you right where you need to be!
If you could have a dinner party with a celebrity, who would it be and why?
I would go on a dinner party with Doug the Pug because he is adorable and it means I would get double the food!
