South Ayrshire young carers told us they would like to know more information about local activities for 8 years plus. Below is a range of local activities – please keep up-to-date for new additions.
Young carers in South Ayrshire now have the opportunity to receive free access to Sport and Leisure memberships through South Ayrshire Council's Activ8 scheme.

Community Learning Development
CLD have a range of youth groups and clubs across South Ayrshire for young people aged 8-21 years. Take part in a range of youth awards, make and hang out with friends, take part in sports/arts and crafts, games, opportunities for trips and supportive youth workers.

A brand new theatre company for young people aged 12 – 15 focussed on staging new and exciting plays. Come along to learn performance skills and work towards performing a new production in 2020.

The Ayr Ark is a youth project situated down by the Citadel in Ayr. We aim to provide a safe alternative to the many peer pressures that young people are faced with by running diversionary events here in our alcohol-free night club setting. We run events on a Friday night and are open for a more chilled evening mid-week once a month.

Girvan Youth Trust (GYT) is a not-for-profit charitable organisation based in Girvan, South Ayrshire. Our primary aim is to engage with local young people with a view to supporting them to make positive and healthy life choices in all areas of their lives.
GYT own and run Z1 Youth Bar, a state of the art, multi-functional, dedicated youth centre which is located at 154 Dalrymple Street in the town. The Youth Bar is disabled accessible non-alcoholic bar, fully equipped with IT suite, Arts & Crafts Suite, Functional Stage Area and Outdoor Area. Most of our weekly activities take place within Z1 as it is a safe, familiar and friendly environment for the young people.

On the banks of the River Ayr stands a Gaming Cafe dedicated to card games, board games and RPGs, not to mention excellent coffee and food. We have plenty of gaming space and run regular events for our community.

Whatever the weather there is always something to do at the Heads of Ayr Farm Park!
We have plenty of exciting activities – Captain your own boat with our amazing bumper boats, soak your family and friends in water wars, try out our electric tractors and diggers, we even have a playpark, giant sand pit, trampolines, Ringo sledging, a giant aerial runway and jumping pillows to keep you amused!
Quad biking is always great fun and we have quads for all ages – small electric quads which adults and children can go on together, kid’s quad bikes for children aged 7 -11 and adult quads for visitors who are over the age of 12 and over 5 feet tall.
It is the humble cottage where Robert Burns was born and spent the first years of his life. Explore the museum which houses more than 5,000 Burns artefacts including his handwritten manuscripts. Follow in Tam o’ Shanter’s footsteps to atmospheric Alloway Auld Kirk and over the Brig o’ Doon. Visit the Monument where Burns tourism began back in 1823. Celebrate the legacy of Burns with haggis, neeps and tatties in the museum café.
The gardens of Rozelle combine mature woodland, rhododendron walks, parkland and ornamental ponds, to produce a rich and varied landscape for all visitors.
Rozelle is often used for a variety of events and festival throughout the year.
Once you have enjoyed the walks around the estate you may wish to explore Rozelle House Museum & Galleries, The Maclaurin Gallery and have a coffee at the Rozelle Tea Room.
