Into the Wild Bush Craft Sessions will help you appreciate the great outdoors and make some new friends along the way. After a year of being cooped up we can't wait to get outside so we'd love it if you joined us too! Sessions are free and for 12-18 year olds. There are limited places so book fast. Workshops begin on Wednesday 21st April 2021 and will run each week until the end of term.
As well as picking up some new outdoors skills and having a laugh along the way, you can also work towards a John Muir/Duke of Edinburgh's/Dynamic Youth Awards so you can boost your CV too. If you think your confidence could do with a boost or you have rooms for some new skills. What new skills we hear you ask! Well that all depends which group you fancy coming along to!
There are two groups:
- Into the Wild Open Group
- Into the Wild LGBTI and Allies group
Both groups will run at Lapwing Lodge Scout Centre and transport will be provided picking up at a central location (more info when you register your interest)
LGBT and Allies Group
If you identify as LGBTI or an ally we also have additional outdoor activities linked to our LGBTI Youth Voice. Into the Wild is your chance to meet new friends and enjoy the great outdoors in a safe place and learn something new. You can also get the chance to be a part of some of our new LGBTI groups in Renfrewshire and help shape them.
Into the Wild LGBTI and Allies runs 4pm-5.30pm every Wednesday starting on the 21st of April 2021 until the end of term.
Activities include shelter building, fire lighting, flora and fauna identification, using tools such as knives, saws and axes safely outdoors.

Into the Wild Open Group (Limited Places)
The open group is available to anyone aged between 12 and 18. Places are limited though so get registered as soon as you can. This group runs 6.30-8pm every Wednesday, starting the 21st April until the end of term. Additional skills you can pick up here include high ropes, archery and canoeing.
You have the option of attending both groups but this should be discussed with staff members so we can make sure there are enough places.
