Renfrewshire Council and architects company New Practice need your ideas!
A corner of Johnstone's High Street has been chosen to be the home of a semi permanent installation. Something inspired by the community. Renfrewshire Council has been working with New Practice to see what could go there and they would like it to be something that comes from you.
If you are interested in design, modelling, or even just have some creative ideas about what you'd like to see on the High Street space, this is a chance for you to get involved.
There are two challenges you can do. The Crafting Challenge involves building a paper/card model to represent what you think should be there. There's an easy guide available on the 'A Corner for Johnstone' project website, including suggestions for easy to find materials, colours to consider using and how to submit what you make.
The SketchUp Design Jam is your chance to get some new skills under your belt. The guys at New Practice want to share what they know with you and show you how to use a 3D modelling tool. It's free, online and easy to use. To make sure you can do it they have created a simple tutorial you can check out before having a go. You can use SketchUp to create your vision or even just an outline what you would like to see.
As a thank you for your input, New Practice will offer Young Scot Rewards Points for submissions. You can find out more about Young Scot Rewards here.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
