Preston Seton Gosford – Participatory budgeting 2023

The Preston Seton Gosford Area Partnership is the local voice of community planning and has a delegated budget from East Lothian Council to deliver improvements in their area. The Area Partnership can allocate £50,000 on projects which help to meet the priorities of the Area Plan which has been developed by the community.  At our Annual General Meeting in May 2023 £39,500 was allocated through member and public vote in person.  We now have a second round of voting open from 28 August until 1 September for the remaining £10,500.

If you are over 18 you should use the Council’s ‘Community Choices’ page to vote, you could also encourage your parents, grandparents and other friends and family to vote if they live in this area.

For young people, you can use your Young Scot Card to vote using the young scot online voting platform availlable here: voting.young.scot. There will not be any poll live on that site until 28th august, but you can check if your card number is valid for East Lothian if you need to. If you don’t have a young Scot Card issued in East Lothian, please speak to your school or library or visit getyournec.scot for more information on how to get a card. It can take a few weeks to get a card, so you might want to speak to your community worker to get a temporary number if you need to vote straight away.

Some more information about the local partnership and the priorities can be found in these documents:
