The week of 10th- 16th is mental health awareness week, and after the year we have had it is important that we understand our mental health and how to cope when things get too much. With restrictions easing please ensure you stick to the current guidelines for COVID-19 which can be found here.
What is mental health?
According to The World Health organisation mental health is:
Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to contribute to his or her community.
This Years Theme is nature. This doesn’t mean that you need to spend every hour of the day outside but taking that hour away from your phone, Tv or computer screen to go on a walk can help drastically.
This week set a challenge for yourself. This can be as simple as taking the dog for a walk, going for a bike ride or help out in the garden the possibilities are endless.
