Duke of Edinburgh, Cumbernauld Open

Day and Time – Various

Description – Support to local individuals 14+, groups and organisations participating (or considering participating) in Duke of Edinburgh Awards

 

North Lanarkshire Challenge (Online/Outdoors), Broadwood Area

Day and Time – Monday 4:15pm - 5:45pm

Description – A fun youth work opportunity to participate in accredited learning, develop self-confidence, new skills, raise awareness of your talents and abilities. Work as part of a team promoting active citizenship within your community. (Volunteering, Skills, Physical, Adventure sections)

 

Tuesday

 

7.00 pm – 9.00 pm – Garrell Vale CEC, Kilsyth – every second Tuesday

 

Kilsyth Open Duke of Edinburgh Group

Day and Time – 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm – Garrell Vale CEC, Kilsyth – every second Tuesday

Description – Duke of Edinburgh Awards Open Group – Open group providing a range of activities, opportunities & support for individuals, groups and organisations participating in all levels of Duke of Edinburgh Awards

 

Young Parents Group, (Online / 1-2-1 / Outdoor)

Day and Time – Tuesday 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm

Description – Online / Digital support for young parents within the North Area: Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and the Northern Corridor. Support from CLD, Health Improvement Team, Midwives and Health Visitors. A range of health-based inputs, play at home, age-appropriate crafts and activities and peer support.

 

Croy P7/S1 Awards Group - (P7/S1)

Day and Time – 7.00 pm – 8.30 pm – Antonine Community Sports Hub, Croy – Tuesdays 

Description - Youth group focussing on positive mental health, self-confidence, resilience and well-being utilising a range of activities such as arts & crafts, drama, cooking, sports, team building etc.) Participants will achieve accredited youth awards by participating.

 

Wednesday

 

New Mums: Covid Response

Day and Time – Wednesday 2 pm-3 pm

Description – Online / Digital support for new parents within the North Area: Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and the Northern Corridor. Support from CLD, Health Improvement Team, Midwives and Health Visitors. A range of health-based inputs, play at home, age-appropriate crafts and activities and peer support.

Music Group (Online/Outdoors), Moodiesburn Area.

Day and Time – Wednesday 4 pm-6 pm

Description – Opportunity for young people to participate in Pre-record and live performances, Write Songs, Quizzes, Art, Musical Challenges. Community Involvement- Entertaining Community Groups on a voluntary basis, Accreditation and much more!

 

Kilsyth, Queenzieburn & Banton Youth Group – (S1 – S3)

Day and Time - 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm – Garrell Vale CEC, Kilsyth – Wednesday

Description - Youth group focussing on youth issues, activities & events. As well as the opportunity to engage and participate in a range of youth awards (DofE, NL Challenge, Youth Achievement Award/Dynamic Youth Award/Hi5, Young STEM Leaders Award, John Muir award etc. etc.) young people can take part in activities such as sports, cooking, drama, arts & crafts, outdoor skills, STEM etc)

 

Thursday

 

Living Life to The Full (Online/Outdoors – Various)

Day and Time – Thursday 4 pm – 6 pm

Description – Living Life to the Full for Y.P. Groupwork/One to One aims to help young people get the most out of their lives. It covers key topics and life skills needed by young people. Designed to engage and support young people, as well as providing tools for learning and support. Helping young people learn new skills for life!

 

Thursday Youth Group (Online/Outdoors) Moodiesburn area

Day and Time – Thursday 4.30 pm – 6.30 pm

Description – Outdoor/Online - Fun and games, challenges, quizzes, opportunity to take part in accredited learning, and lots, lots more at our Weekly Outdoor/Online sessions with your youth work team.

 

Group – Youth Forum: (Online / Outside) 

Day and Time – Thursday 7 pm – 8 pm

Description – Youth Action Cumbernauld & Kilsyth meet weekly to discuss our area, what we want to see, and how we can make it happen. We’re always looking for new voices! 

 

Group – LGBT+ (Online / Outside)

Day and Time – Thursday 8pm-9pm

Description – We meet online on a weekly basis: fun, games, challenges, quizzes and an opportunity to take part in accreditation. A supportive space for LGBT+ young people and their allies.

 

Friday

 

S.T.E.M. (Online / Outdoor)

Day and Time – Friday 5 pm-7 pm

Description – Why not join us and take part in STEM activities you can do at home with our support?! Fun, learning and accreditation (Hi5 Award for anyone who completes 5 or more hours) 

 

Saturday

 

Saturday Night Project 

Day and Time – Saturday 6.30 pm-9.30 pm

Description - Support young people to have access to safe spaces that promotes physical activity, improves mental health and wellbeing, peer support and builds trusted relationships with youth work staff and coaches.
