Ambition Agreement

For young people who have left school there is support with the Ambition Agreement to give young people 1to1 support to help them take the next step into education or work. The staff that work with Ambition Agreements can help with employability skills such as CV writing, application support, mock interviews and job searches. The staff work North Ayrshire wide and can meet anywhere that suits the young person best. We also offer community support such as drop-in sessions and online sessions for young people to attend, ask questions or seek support. The team also work in schools and with the careers advisors to try and make sure the young people know about employability support outside of school so when they leave school they don’t feel lost or confused about next steps.

In terms of employability support, North Ayrshire has a young person’s guarantee programme that will support 16-24 year olds:

  • Get a job
  • Get and apprenticeship
  • Get a volunteering placement
  • Training – sectoral training and work experience

Support is also available for softer skills – improving confidence, work skills, team working.  We can also support with application processes, CV building, Interviews.

Every young person will be allocated a key worker who will help them identify options suitable for them and work through these options.
