The Dangers of Injecting Drugs

Taking any illegal drug, or New Psychoactive Substance, is very risky, but it's even more dangerous to inject drugs.

You can get blood borne viruses from syringes, spoons, filters and other equipment that is used to inject drugs. This happens when the equipment isn’t sterilised or is shared. You can pick up HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS, as well as Hepatitis B and C from injecting drugs. Repeated injection can damage your skin causing scars, bruises, swelling, abscesses and ulcers. Your veins can even collapse.
