There's no point waiting, wondering and hoping your life away!
If you want to move things forward, sooner or later you need to let them know how you feel.
How can I let them how I feel?
Start by giving them a few compliments about how they look or the clothes they're wearing or something they do. Maybe you've heard their band or seen them on the sports field?
If they're still talking to you at this point, it's a good sign. Next, it's time to take the plunge and ask them out on a date (see below for good first date ideas).
If the answer's "no", accept that they don't feel the same about you as you do about them.
If they are up for hanging out, you'll have a golden chance to get to know each other better and for romance to blossom.
What makes a good first date?
Making it a public space helps keep the pressure off (being totally alone on a first date can feel weird).
It could be as simple as a wander in the park or you could go grab a coffee or a burger.
Remember that a date is just a date. Saying 'yes' to a date doesn't give anyone permission to get physical and nobody should feel under any pressure to do anything they're not comfortable with.
Before you go out, make sure you let someone know where you'll be.
What if I get rejected?
Being rejected is a blow but at least you know not to waste any more time daydreaming about this person.
All you can do is to chalk it up to experience. On the plus side, once you've plucked up the courage to ask one person out, it's easier the next time.
If they really are the likeable type you thought they were, they won't rub it in. If they do, it's maybe just as well you're not an item.
In the meantime, take it easy and try not to be alone too much. It can also help to talk about how you feel.
