How to Make the Most of the Festivities in Scotland

The festive season is a great time to get out and about and spend quality time with friends and family. With so many exciting events happening across Scotland there is plenty to see and do.

Check out our top tips for having a great festive day out!

Plan your journey

To get your day out off to a great start, be sure to plan how you’ll get there and back ahead of time. The festive season is a busy time which means there may be delays in traffic or route changes to accommodate the festive events. Whether you're planning to head into Edinburgh for the European Christmas Markets, Glasgow for the IRN-BRU Carnival or Inverness for Winter Wonderland Festival you can use your Young Scot card to help you get there.

If you are 16-18 or aged 19-25 and a full time volunteer you can save a third off travel with your Young Scot card. Simply show or scan your card for the cheaper fare.

Citylink also offer great options for getting from A to B - check out Citylink’s journey planner to start planning. All Young Scot cardholders can also save 20% off the fare when you show or scan your Young Scot card when purchasing your ticket.
