- 1. Form good habits
Getting into the habit of looking after yourself the best way you can is a great thing to do, and all of these basic things can be super important to helping you study and perform in exams in the best way you possibly can.
Eating foods like bread, rice, pasta, fruit and veg can help to maintain your energy levels. This is key for both sitting down to study for your exams and when you to come to sit them too. Fuel your body well and you'll be able to work in the best way possible!
Drink Plenty Water
Keeping yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water can help with your focus and energy levels. This, again, is crucial when you are trying to study for any upcoming exams.
Exercising is a great way to clear your mind and de-stress. So, if you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by your revision, taking a short break and doing some exercise could enable you to focus better when you get back to it!
Get a Good Sleep
Getting a proper rest is essential for looking after your physical and mental health all of the time. Being well rested is even more important when you are revising for your exams. As part of your study plan, try to ensure you get enough sleep throughout this busy time so you can perform at your best.
- 2. Take breaks
It can be tempting to focus only on your studies around exam time, but you shouldn't cut out all the fun from your life!
Planning your time well means you can plan in well-deserved time to relax and unwind around studying. This could be as simple as having a ten minute break after twenty minutes of studying and rewarding yourself with some time on social media!
So long as you go back to studying after your break there's nothing to feel guilty about when relaxing for a bit. Studying 24/7 is unachievable, and isn't productive or good for you either, so remember there's nothing wrong with taking time off for you.
- 3. Feeling stressed about exams? Talk to someone
If you're feeling stressed about exams, or don't know where to start with studying, talk to someone you trust.
A teacher, tutor, friend or family member can be a great reassurance.
You'll probably feel better after talking to someone about your worries, and they might even have practical advice to help you feel better and give you the confidence to tackle the problem head on.
- 4. Take the pressure off
Exam time can be full of pressure from yourself or others, but try not to let this pressure get to you. Its important that you try not to pay too much attention to what anyone else is doing (there will always be people who say they are studying all hours of the day!), and instead just focus on your own study plan as you'll be much more productive this way.
Setting yourself realistic goals and expectations from the start of your studying mean that you'll know what you're trying to achieve and have a way of working towards this. This takes the pressure off as it can stop you feeling that your goals are unrealistic.
- 5. Be nice to yourself!
Treating yourself kindly during exam time is essential, especially as you're working so hard. If you find this difficult, imagine you're talking to your best friend and the advice and encouragement you'd give them.
You can only do your best, and your best is more than good enough! Always try to remind yourself of that.
