LGBTQ+ Clyde Pride Youth Group

Branchton Community Centre (temporary venue)
Tuesday’s 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Clyde Pride is a youth action group for LGBTQ+ young people age 12-18 to come together in a safe, supportive and confidential space to meet like minded young people, explore their identity and access youth work services.  So far this year group have worked on a Gender identity Project helping them to gain a better understanding of the social concepts of groups and social identities and how these apply to LGBTQ+ people.

Our young people have participated in various workshops exploring social identities, group formation, gender and sexuality.  Through this they designed and created pronoun badges alongside a pocket guide to gender leaflet to allow others to have a better understanding of these concepts.  They have established links with the Beacon Arts Centre and also taken part in various consultations such as the Greenock Town Centre Regeneration, SYP and Youthlinks Mental Health and Wellbeing focus group and period poverty survey.  They attended Pride Prom in Glasgow and hosted their very own Pride Picnic in the Battery Park.
