Govan Youth Information Project (GYIP) and FIXERS UK, a charity specialising in helping young people tell their story about the dangers of drug & alcohol misuse have produced a video around drug and alcohol misuse.
Here are some words from one of the young people who worked on the project:
My name is Ethan Mcinally, I am a young person from the Govan area that started up my own project called "Getting The Message Across." It is about educating young people on the harms and dangers of Drugs & Alcohol. We run various Workshops for young people in the aim to get them off the streets and out of trouble. We are a small youth led community group and we also toured Glasgow Primary and Secondary Schools on our awareness and got a short film made, which has been showed in front of 4,000 pupils.
The reason for me using young people within this video was to have a bigger impact on the young people to show them the young people in the video are the same ages as them and it only takes that one time for you to get caught up in drugs & alcohol for it to have really bad consequences on the person taking it and also to show the ripple effect and how it doesn't only effect that person but those around them as well.
