The activity for CLD's challenge this week is take part in some mindfulness by creating a zentangle or mandala, or doing some mindful colouring in.
What you need:
- Paper/Colouring In Book
- At least 1 hour of uninterrupted time.
A Zentangle is a form of artistic meditation. The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. You create these with combinations of different shapes, dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and circles.
Mandalas are circular geometric patterns. Some people find the drawing and coloring of a mandala as a form of meditation. Everyone can have those days when your mind overflows and your thoughts just seem to keep running in circles. Drawing or colouring in a mandala can be calming. By focusing only on the pattern and the colours, your mind can rest and become peaceful.
All you need to get started is some pens and paper. Let your mind wonder and see what it creates!
