The YouthTalk programme has taken place across different parts of Edinburgh where over 6000 young people have been involved and helped make a difference.
In Leith, young people asked for:
Reduce access to alcohol for people under age
- Working positively with North East Action on Alcohol to create workshops and other activities to get the message across that it’s not safe for young people. A Blue Light disco was planned but will need to take place later.
Increase safety in and around parks and green spaces
- We are working with our parks people to look at what we might be able to do to improve things
Increase safety for young people on line
- Looking to get parents more involved with helping get safer messages across to children. Also looking to provide access to other online resources to parents.
Increase sport and physical activity
- Working to link with Hibernian FC Gamechanger and Edinburgh Leisure to improve access to activities.
