Regional Youth Council Elections 

Dumfries and Galloway are delighted to announce the creation of a new Youth Council for the region. Young people from across Dumfries and Galloway will be elected to represent their local community.

24 young people will be elected to represent the 12 different ward areas in D&G. A further 7 young people will also be elected to represent identities who are often not heard in decision making.

Scottish Youth Parliament Elections

Four Dumfires and Galloway young people will be elected to represent your voice in the Scottish Youth Parliament:

  • 2 Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Dumfriesshire
  • 2 Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Galloway & West Dumfries

Voting Information

Voting will run from 15th March - 29th March 2019. 

Young People aged 12 (or in S1) - 25 are able to cast their vote for who will be their Local & National Youth Representative. All you need to know to be able to vote is your name, date of birth and postcode.

There will be physical polling stations covering all secondary schools across D&G, as well as some other community buildings. Polling places locations are detailed here.
