Wednesday Online P7-S3 Guitar Group – 4.30-5.10 approx – Zoom
Have fun finding all the sounds you can make with a guitar, learn the basic chord shapes and some popular riffs and songs along the way
Thursday Online Youth Group – 4.30-5.30pm – Zoom
Work on tasks, like plan a community event or develop the group’s online presence or even learn and record a song together. Around once a month Special Guest’s from music or film industry join us to talk about their role and answer questions from our Young People. So far we have had Rock Bands, Pop Stars, Producers, Actors, Animators, Directors, Sound Editors and designers, Camera Crew and Costume Designers.
Friday Indoor Youth Group – 2-4pm – Kirriemuir Guide Hall
In line with current guidelines we now meet on Friday’s. The session is similar to Thursday but helps get young people around the table, have a live music rehearsal/performance element, or the opportunity for peer learning etc. This is open to 11-18s.
Sunday Session – 2-4pm – Zoom and Teams
Session focuses on recording sounds, learning about digital music tools and using mobile devices to create musical ideas. Currently on Zoom, but running alongside a MS Teams group we created as an Audio Library to store all clips and enable us to all collaborate on each other’s ideas.
Young people aged 19-25 can get involved with activities, spend time getting to know the group and building their skills and confidence. If this works well there is a chance to become a volunteer with DD8 to gain work experience.
