Panic by Terri Simpson

Panic, a sudden uncontrollable fear

Most of the time irrational and unabated

Never mild, always severe

Always leaving you feeling deflated

Inhale, exhale

The only coping mechanism

Crippling you without fail

The ultimate criticism

So frustrating yet unpreventable

The most terrifying emotion

Utterly incomprehensible

As if you're drowning like a stone in an ocean

Sometimes brought on by the stupidest thing

There would've been no reason to worry

Feeling as if you can't do anything

Incapacitated by the panic, your view blurry
