Guides

For ages 10 - 14

  • Guides learn new skills, make their own decisions and have fun
  • They meet new people and make friends
  • They work together in small groups called Patrols
  • They decide on and plan many of their own activities
  • They go on camps and holidays, and may even travel abroad
  • There is a Guide Promise and Law
  • There is a range of Guide clothes that they can choose from
  • They face challenges and have adventures
  • They complete skill builders and badges

Rangers

For ages 14 - 18

  • Rangers and Young Leaders
  • They are aged between 14 and 18 years old
  • Their programme follows on from Guides with a wide variety of choices on offer
  • The programme is linked to recognised qualifications and awards
  • They have camps and holidays and often travel abroad
  • They learn leadership skills
  • Promise is the same as the Guides promise
  • Young Leaders help in Rainbow, Brownie or Guide units.
  • They make new friends and have great fun
