Grow a Rainbow

It is our mission to create a beautiful bumblebee haven in Banchory. We will build and deliver bespoke, reclaimed raised-bed planters to entice fruit and vegetable growing within the community and highlight the importance of encouraging biodiversity to support climate change. Our stunning array of perennial wildflowers will not only be eye-catching but will attract pollinators to maximise the yield. We will also provide unique, handmade bumblebee watering stations from old crockery to create stunning mosaics. Our community deserves this!

It is our aim for Drumoak Primary School to have a new outdoor learning space filled with edible fruit and vegetables. We would like you pupils to help develop this outdoor space, to plant fruit, vegetables, and wildflowers. To create a school pond and build a bug hotel from pallets, to make mosaic bird baths and butterfly and bird feeding stations. Do you want to join in? Vote for us!

BPS Rewilders

Air pollution is a hidden killer and Arbeadie Road is one of the busiest roads in Banchory. We aim to install a green screen along the side of the playground to improve the playground learning/playing environment for all of our pupils. This will act as a healthy, natural barrier against the pollution coming from the road. We have researched this with primary schools in London, where they have measured the impact of the green screen and found positive improvements with the air quality. It would also really enhance the playground to benefit the birds and all children.
