Aberdeenshire PB: How to Apply

We Decide, Children and Young People Voting for Change is a project where young people from Primary 7 to S6 vote on which projects are funded in their local schools.

£5,000 is allocated to each area, for detail on areas please see map.

Essential Criteria

  1. Your application must be for activities, events and/or resources with a focus on Climate Change and Carbon Reduction. 
  2. Your project must identify interventions and/or activities which will have a positive impact on the school community.
  3. We encourage application to be made for amounts from £1,000 up to £2,000.
  4. You must be able to spend the funds by 31st March 2023 if successful.
  5. You must allow your project to be used in any promotional material.
  6. You must submit your application by end of day on Monday 12th September 2022 to your school.
  7. Your school will decide which applications will progress to the vote – only one application per Primary School and 2 per Academy can be put forward.
  8. Schools will submit their chosen projects for the vote by end of day on Monday 19th September 2022
  9. Public vote commences from Friday 23rd September until to noon on Friday 30th September.
  10. Announce successful projects Monday 3rd October

Process of selection:
Please ensure you have discussed your application with your Head Teacher and your application is agreed with them. 

Once received, your applications will be considered by young people in your school and 1 application from each primary school and 2 from each secondary school will be put forward to the overall voting process.

All young people attending Aberdeenshire schools will have the opportunity to vote for their top 3 projects in their cluster.

The 3 successful projects in each school cluster will receive the funding.
