£1 entry at Historic Houses

To celebrate the Year of Young People 2018, heritage sites across Scotland are lowering their drawbridges and opening their gates!

For just £1 experience some of our finest Scottish houses, castles and gardens. Most are family homes; many are symbols of our unique heritage. Explore our rich cultural heritage from Walter Scott’s home Abbotsford House in the Borders to the MacLeod stronghold of Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye, from Hopetoun House near Edinburgh, a film location for Outlander, to the iconic Inveraray Castle in Argyll.

Historic Houses represents over 200 of Scotland’s independently owned historic houses, castles and gardens.
