What Booze Does to Your Looks in Body

1) It screws up your skin
Drinking over your daily limit has been linked to skin condition rosacea, which can leave you with red bumps and pus filled spots. Booze also dilutes your skins blood vessels, so some people develop red blotches.
2) You’ll look older… a lot older
Alcohol deprives you of the vitamins your skin needs, which means overdoing it on the drink means your skin becomes wrinkled and you’ll look a lot older than you actually are.
3) Getting grey
Drinking alcohol makes you dehydrated – and fluids like water are a key ingredient in keeping your skin nice and youthful! It’ll also give your skin an unappealing grey tinge.
4) Bags under your eyes
Late night boozing means you get a worse quality of sleep, so you'll see the effects of last night the morning after
How to help:
- Drink soft drinks and water whilst drinking alcohol. It’ll help you keep hydrated, you’ll drink less, and save yourself from a hangover the next day.
- Stick to the guideline units. That’s 3-4 units a day for men, and 2-3 a day for women. You can calculate the units in different drinks here. You can’t save up all your units from the week to use at the weekend however…
Remember: alcohol can hugely impact both your physical and your mental health, especially on those under the legal age of drinking. The best way to stay safe is to avoid it until you are 18 years old, and to drink responsibly when you are of age if you choose to do so.
