Information & opportunities for young people in Scotland

Join the National Youth Arts Advisory Group!

Over the last two years, Creative Scotland and Young Scot have been working together to support a National Youth Arts Advisory group (also known as YAVS - Youth Arts Voice Scotland).

The group has been playing a significant role in determining the priorities of youth arts at a local, regional national level and are looking for new members to expand the reach and scale of what they do. Could this be you?

We’re the National Youth Arts Advisory Group for Scotland and we’re all advocates for youth arts. We have supported the delivery of Scotland’s first national youth arts strategy and have represented youth arts on regional, national and international platforms. We have designed and delivered the Time to Shine Unconvention – Scotland’s first youth focused arts conference, and have overseen the Nurturing Talent Fund – a fund that has shared over £39,000 in grants to Scotland’s young artists.

"I've been able to use skills I've learned from being in involved in a whole range of arts projects and can now apply them in a much bigger context..." - Shelby, current member

We want to invite new members into our group to work alongside us over the next two years. We will be working with the Scottish Government, Creative Scotland and Young Scot as well as many other key partners on some very exciting projects! We will continue to oversee the Nurturing Talent Fund and we will design and deliver the Time To Shine Unconvention 2.0 which will take place during 2018 - the Year of Young People.

We will work directly with key stakeholders from the youth arts sector and we will help identify the priorities of young people to provide recommendations for local, regional and national youth arts delivery.

So if you’re aged between 14 – 23 and are passionate about youth arts and fancy getting involved, why not come join us on the next two years of this exciting journey?
